These trains were used on several different planets, even the poorer Rim planets. They were very fast and could catch up to some smaller spacecraft that were in the atmosphere. A monorail track could be seen on the planet Persephone. One such train was raided by the Serenity crew, as a job for their employer, but when they saw that the cargo they had stolen could kill hundreds of people, they had no choice but to return it and suffer their employers punishment.
