Lund is a pro-Alliance patron in an Alliance friendly bar. His toast for Unification Day attracted the attention of Malcolm Reynolds, who Lund began to antagonize for looking like an Independent. When Mal attacked Lund he, as well as all the other bar-patrons, attacked Mal, Zoë and Jayne Cobb. They were chased out of the bar and nearly off of a cliff, until Wash threatened to "blow another crater in this little moon."
