Patience, an elderly woman, is the matriarchal leader of the backwater moon Whitefall and notorious for having previously shot Malcolm Reynolds. Despite this, Mal takes the crew to her in order to shift some troubling cargo and, despite her treachery, successfully sells the cargo.
