Umm doesn't Kaylee ask for a new compression coil in the pilot? I think thats note worthy >.>

Why do the salvagers (or pirates, if you prefer) allow Mal to chase them off of the ship? He's injured, and he has a single gun, while the salvagers have more manpower and more weaponry. Mal really wasn't in a bargaining position, but they walk away and leave the catalyzer anyway. Blacksuzaku (talk) 03:05, January 4, 2011 (UTC)

Mal was aiming for the pirate captain. The crew wasn't willing to sacrifice their captain to a dying man who had nothing to lose. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 00:06, January 5, 2011 (UTC)
Also, given Mal's gunshot wound, the salvager probably figured all he needed to was wait a bit and Mal would die, so he could come back and get the ship later. -RRabbit42 (leave a message) 02:42, January 9, 2011 (UTC)
Finally, the pirates didn't think much of Serenity. A ship barely worth taking wasn't worth fighting for. 131.96.47.17 20:56, June 7, 2012 (UTC)
